Find and read a paper

Search by title, DOI, author or topic in the library or Agent. If a public transcript already exists, open it directly. Otherwise, request the paper’s accessible full text. Supported PDF and article-page sources can become flowing text with equations, tables and figures. Automatic access is not always possible; use the upload option on the paper or failed request to provide a PDF you are authorized to process. The app shows the current file, page and usage limits.

Choose what to share

Choose Shared or Only me when importing. Immediate public sharing requires your license selection and confirmation that you may publish the material, including its figures. Administrator review follows publication; unconfirmed sharing requests wait for review. Canceling the sharing prompt continues privately, subject to any displayed credit cost. The choice is remembered for that material and account. Opening a source link or retrying a job does not ask for the license again. Use the paper’s sharing controls to change its visibility, or reset saved choices in import Options for future imports.

Credits and interrupted requests

Profile shows your OnlyIdeas credit balance and history. These are non-transferable app credits with no cash value. A connection error does not mean your balance is zero: reconnect and tap Retry. Check the request’s current state before starting another import; retries reuse completed work when available. Failed imports and unused reservations are returned according to the displayed usage policy. Reusing an existing public paper does not require a new transcription.

Report content

Use Report beside a comment, or email us with the paper or comment link and the reason. Public papers can be reviewed or removed after publication. Comments awaiting moderation appear as pending. Block a reader from the comment menu; manage blocked readers in Profile.
